A characterful village retreat in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside.
Once the village schoolmistress's house, this charming period property has been lovingly restored into a welcoming countryside retreat full of warmth and character. Thoughtfully furnished throughout, The School House blends heritage with comfort, offering guests a relaxing base in the heart of Lincolnshire.
You’ll arrive through the garden porch into a well-equipped kitchen, where everything you need for home-cooked meals is close to hand. From here, step into the dining room – affectionately called The Reading Room – lined with books and complete with a small work desk, it’s a cosy and versatile space whether you’re enjoying breakfast, catching up with a good novel, or writing postcards from your stay. The sitting room is the true heart of the house, with a crackling wood-burning stove, inviting sofa, and soft lighting that makes it the perfect place to curl up after a day exploring.
Upstairs, you’ll find a serene double bedroom with calming décor and a sense of quiet seclusion, alongside a beautifully spacious bathroom where you can indulge in a long soak and unwind in style.
Outside, the private cottage garden is a delight – ideal for morning coffee, leisurely lunches, or an evening glass of wine under wide Lincolnshire skies. With footpaths leading straight from the village, a traditional country pub nearby, and historic Stamford just a short drive away, The School House is perfectly placed for those seeking both peace and exploration.
Blending original charm with homely touches, this one-of-a-kind retreat is made for slowing down, switching off, and enjoying the simple pleasures of countryside living.
