The Stable is one of three holiday cottages nicely tucked away in a quiet corner of the Lincolnshire Wolds in the little hamlet of Great Sturton. Awarded Four Stars by VisitEngland, the cottages sit within a rusty red-brick barn which has been beautifully converted to ensure its Georgian charm remains whilst adding conveniences for modern day self-catering.
The perfect 'bolt-hole' to get away from it all, Old Barn Cottages offers all the right ingredients to relax and unwind in an oasis of calm. Enjoy sitting on the patio and soaking up the stunning views over the surrounding undulating landscape, follow the woodland nature trail, challenge friends and family to a game of croquet or light up the BBQ and enjoy alfresco dining in the beauty of the Lincolnshire Wolds.
Superb golf and horse riding are popular pursuits in the local area, as are walking and cycling the quiet leafy lanes. For those who like to get out and about exploring, the area offers a multitude of attractions. Head to the coast and enjoy a day on the beach at the seaside resort of Skegness or the smaller coastal town of Mablethorpe with its large sandy beach.
The ancient cathedral city of Lincoln is only fifteen miles away with a great selection of shops and restaurants, and the Georgian market town of Horncastle is even closer and just five miles from Old Barn Cottages. The area is dotted with country houses, gardens, country parks, nature reserves and attractions including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Coningsby.
The Lincolnshire Wolds has managed to remain one of the country's quieter less-spoilt areas - a place where you can enjoy a slower pace of life, peace and tranquility, and beautiful scenery.
