Stretton Lakes is located in the county of Rutland and set within one hundred and twenty acres of farmland. It is home to six luxurious holiday lodges which are perfectly positioned around six fishing lakes in a picturesque spot surrounded by open farmland and woodland.
The lakes provide a tranquil setting with a vast array of flora and fauna, where you can watch carp swimming, mallard ducks flying and maybe even catch a glimpse of the deer grazing.
These luxury log cabins are positioned on the edge of Stretton Wood; one hundred acres of ancient woodland alive with birds and fallow deer. This is the perfect setting for enjoying a leisurely stroll through the woods or simply relaxing in one of the lodges, each with its own hot tub where you can sit and look over the lakes - the perfect place to enjoy a bubble and glass of wine after an exciting day exploring the area or a day's fishing.
Rutland is England's smallest county which has one of Europe's biggest man-made reservoirs. Nestling amongst over three thousand acres of picturesque rolling countryside, the reservoir is a vast outdoor playground with something for all. For those who enjoy cycling and walking, there is a twenty five mile circular track (bike hire available or bring your own). Water lovers have much to keep them occupied with superb opportunities for trout fishing, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and rowing boats for those looking for something a little more sedate.
The famous Anglian Water Bird Watching Centre is a huge attraction for nature lovers and bird watchers, being the site where the first Ospreys bred in England (visit in August when the annual British Bird Watching Fair takes place). Alternatively, take a picnic, find a bench and sit back and watch everyone else having fun on the water!
