Dalendrien is a single storey house, sleeping 6, stunningly positioned on its own peninsula on the shoreline of Loch Linnhe. a long sea inlet running from the Isle of Mull inland to the slopes of Ben Nevis, and sits on the quiet north shore of the loch just off the scenic road which runs from Fort William to the remote Ardnamurchan Peninsula.
The house is in the hamlet of Stronchreggan nestling in three acres of grounds with private shoreline and slipway, some 25 miles from Fort William and 8 miles north of the Corran Ferry at Ardgour. There are magnificent views looking over the loch to the mountains of Glen Coe and Ben Nevis itself. Behind the house is a glen, ideal for long walks from the house, with the river Chreagain and its tumbling little waterfalls running through it. Wildlife is in abundance with deer grazing, in the evening, on the large grass area leading to the loch shore. Golden and Sea Eagles can be seen flying overhead with red squirrels, pine marten, seals and otters regular visitors.
The family’s Scottish home is situated within easy reach of historic castles and sites. The Jacobite Steam Train from Fort William to Mallaig follows the Road to the Isles, over the Glefinnan viaduct and passing scenes used to shoot the Harry Potter films. The area has been a location for Braveheart, Rob Roy and recently Skyfall. It is a walker’s paradise, including the glen behind the house. Fishing permits are easily available and there are several good golf courses within an easy drive of the house, all welcome day visitors. Mountain biking with the world-renown trail on Anoach Mor. The Ben Nevis Distillery, in Fort William, dates back to 1825 and is a must for whisky lovers! Other outdoor activities include biking, climbing, sea kayaking, white water rafting, quad biking, etc.

All bedrooms have radios and hair dryers, the master bedroom has private access to the family bathroom, as well as a television. An additional cot, and child’s folding bed for under 5 years olds are available on request. Both bathrooms have walk-in showers, basins and toilets. The family bathroom has a bath.
The kitchen is comprehensively equipped. Electric split-level ovens (one fan assisted, one conventional), induction hob, microwave oven. Fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and clothes drying lines are found in the Utility Room (just off the kitchen).
The living room has a picture window overlooking loch and mountains. Open fire (solid fuel for fire not provided, but easily available at local petrol stations). TV, DVD player, DVD library, books and games. Dining table seating 6, high chair and children’s booster seats on request. Comfortably furnished conservatory leading on to decking and outside garden.

Weekly bookings only available from Saturday to Saturday. Entry time not before 16.00 hrs, departure time by 10.00 hrs. Home deliveries available from Morrisons supermarket and an independent butcher and fishmonger in Fort William. The house is cleaned, and the sheets changed, before and after each holiday let, but the owners ask you to leave the house in good order. Terms & Conditions sent upon booking enquiry.
