Sleeping up to six guests in three bedrooms, Craigview boasts a fabulous position overlooking the tranquil waters of Loch Carron in the picturesque Highlands village of Plockton. Consistently rated among Scotland's prettiest villages, Plockton is a true 'gem' of a holiday destination that attracts yachtsmen, artists and tourists alike.
The breath-taking views are sure to impress you from the moment you arrive in the National Trust village of Plockton. Gleaming white cottages bounce their reflection off the crystal clear waters that are fringed and protected by the majestic backdrop of the mountains in the distance and Duncraig Castle. The village has an incredible relaxed holiday vibe running through it where locals, visiting yachtsmen and holiday makers relax by the waters edge chatting about their days adventures over glass or two, whilst watching others have fun in their kayaks and boats.
Decorated in a romantic Highland style, Craigview offers a warm Scottish welcome at any time of the year and is ideal for families, friends and also couples who enjoy having a little extra space around them. The cottage is well-equipped with everything needed to self-cater but for those who enjoy eating out, there are two very good pubs in the village serving the freshest of seafood, along with traditional entertainment some nights. There is also an excellent restaurant, Plockton Shores (pre-booking required as it is very popular, as are the pubs!), and a village shop for provisions.
There is plenty to do in and around the magical setting of Plockton. Take one of Callum's renowned seal trips (no sighting no fee!), explore the waters edge with pretty deserted coral beaches along the way for a picnic, lace up your walking boots and discover the stunning landscape, or book on a kayaking expedition - a great way to see the wildlife (including seals basking off the tiny little islands that pepper the Loch Carrons waters).
For those who can tear themselves away from the beauty of Plockton's setting, there are plenty of attractions for day trips out within easy reach. Take a scenic drive to the Applecross Peninsula with stunning scenery enroute and glorious beaches to reward at the other end; visit Eilean Donan Castle, possibly Scotland's most romantic and certainly its most visited; and explore the numerous attractions of the Isle of Skye (the Skye bridge is only ten minutes drive from Plockton) including the Fairy Pools, the Quiraing (for stunning hill walks) and Talisker Distillery (for holiday gifts!).
Whether you want to relax, kayak, sail, walk or explore, Plockton is sure to provide memories that will last a lifetime.
