About Tan y Bryn

Tan y Bryn is in a scenic spot between the coast and the hills of North Wales, within easy reach of fantastic beaches and exciting attractions. The one-bedroom holiday home is next to the owner’s house and has fantastic views and walks from the door, including to the Eagle and Child pub in Gwaenysgor with its award-winning garden. Guests love how welcoming the cottage is, with its flexible layout that allows for a superking or two single beds, the well-equipped kitchen for self-catering, and the garden area with decking. Storage for bikes and kayaks is available in the owner’s outbuildings. It’s ideal for couples, friends or solo visitors who can appreciate its home comforts and convenient location.

Gwaenysgor is a conservation village in Flintshire set within the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It has an excellent pub and views of the Irish Sea, Snowdonia, The Clwydian hills, the Great Orme and Anglesey. There are many excellent local walks including along the Offa’s Dyke footpath and to the top of Gop Hill which is the second largest neolithic mound in Britain. Prestatyn with its excellent shops and restaurants, blue flag beach, Wales Coastal Footpath and the start of the 177-mile Offa’s Dyke Footpath is only two miles away.

Local attractions include Rhuddlan Castle, Dyserth Waterfalls, the SeaQuarium and Pavilion Theatre in Rhyl. Wildlife lovers will enjoy the Gronant Dunes protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and the RSPB Nature Reserve at Point of Ayr. Conwy with its scenic harbour, famous castle and RSPB Reserve, Llandudno, Anglesey, Llangollen and the historic city of Chester are all under an hour away. Moel Famau, the Vale of Clwyd, Greenfield Park and St Winifrede’s Well and Shrine are closer at about half an hour’s drive.

Tan y Bryn is a lovely, detached period property made from locally quarried stone. It’s peaceful and private with rural views, a friendly pub within walking distance and loads to do within a small radius. Bookings are available all year round.
