About The Old Barn Cottage

The Old Barn Cottage provides four star quality holiday accommodation which is located on a small family run farm in the lovely area of East Neuk in Fife. This holiday cottage is situated in a wonderful rural position with beautiful views across the Firth of Forth towards Edinburgh and North Berwick.

This is a fabulous place to get away from it all and truly relax and is ideally situated for visiting the many tourist attractions that this beautiful part of Scotland has to offer.

The local area offers a huge range of outdoor activities including water sports, cycleways and the Fife Coastal Path which is great for walkers. The area also has over forty golf courses all within easy reach and less than an hour by car. Prestigious St Andrews is only a ten minute drive making The Old Barn Cottage a good choice for those who enjoy a round!

There are plenty of places to visit including the Scottish Deer Centre, St Andrews, fishing villages, museums, Kellie Castle and for lazy days, glorious quiet Blue Flag beaches.

For those who want to escape cooking whilst on holiday, you can choose from a wide variety of excellent places to eat from acclaimed restaurants to bars and cafes, all within a short drive and many located either within the local countryside or around the coastal villages.

The Old Barn Cottage sleeps four guests (or six with the use of a sofa bed) and is part of a former steading. Fully renovated, the cottage is a real home from home and ensures a high degree of comfort.

Accommodation comprises:

  • Entrance into the ground floor is via the porch - a good place to store shoes and jackets. This leads into....
  • Hallway with storage cupboard.
  • Spacious sitting room with a large bay window providing lovely views out over the Forth, comfy seating (including a sofa bed which sleeps two) and a television.
  • Shower room with power shower, WC and wash basin.
  • Kitchen with a good range of oak units, well equipped with microwave, dishwasher, oven, electric hob (with extractor over), fridge and freezer. This leads off to...
  • Compact utility room housing the washing machine and tumble dryer.
  • Two first floor en-suite bedrooms - one twin and one king-size room with views over the Firth of Forth and surrounding countryside.

Outside: Guests have a garden to relax in during the warmer months and off-road parking.

Additional information: The price includes all electricity, central heating (throughout the whole property), linen and towels. Short breaks are available (three night minimum). The owner lives close by and can answer any questions or help when needed. Cot and also high chair can be provided by arrangement.
