Torranbuie Farmhouse is a fantastic family holiday home in the Cairngorms National Park. The early-Victorian property sleeps six people in three bedrooms and features thick stone walls, an oil-fired AGA, a spacious living room with a wood burner, and an acre of gardens and woodland. It is just outside Strathdon, famous for the annual Lonach Highland gathering and games, and popular all year round with walkers, mountain bikers, anglers, golfers, skiers and snowboarders. The charming holiday cottage is child and pet friendly and available for bookings in all seasons.
Strathdon has something for everyone. It's only a few miles from the Lecht Ski Centre, an alpine delight with hiking and mountain biking in summer and skiing and snowboarding in winter. As an alternative, Glenshee is less than an hour's drive from Torranbuie Farmhouse, while summer skiers are only half an hour from the dry slopes at the Alford Ski Centre. Check out the links at Aboyne, Ballater, and Tarland golf courses, all within a 30-40 minutes drive, or continue for 20 minutes further to the courses at Deeside and Kintore. Anglers can try their luck on the Upper Dee, where the salmon season runs from early February to mid-October. Gliding and horse riding are also available.
The Lonach Highland Games take place on the 4th Saturday of August, but there's plenty to keep you happily occupied at other times of the year. Local attractions include the picturesque ruins of 16th-century Glenbuchat Castle, the Alford Valley Railway and Alford Heritage Centre, and the Grampian Transport Museum. Spend a day touring estates like Balmoral, Grampian, and Glenlivet, or take a picnic and admire the pink ramparts of Craigievar Castle. The beautiful Moray Coast and Granton-on-Spey are an hour's drive for a fun day out, while Aberdeen is around an hour and 20 minutes away.
Torranbuie Farmhouse welcomes visitors all year round. Pets and children are welcome.

Torranbuie Farmhouse dates from the early 1800s and has been carefully updated to provide comfortable accommodation over two levels.

Outside: The cottage has an acre of gardens that include a field, stone dyke and a stream, and a seating and barbecue area. There's off-street parking for multiple cars.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Firewood can be provided at cost price. The owners will do their best to accommodate wheelchair users, please discuss your requirements with them. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. The owners offer the cottage for two free weeks every year to any nominated group that need a holiday. A £50 deposit is required to secure your booking with the balance due 6 weeks before your holiday. Smoking is not permitted.

The fee for a week is £575 which is for 2 Adults + Family there's a charge of £25 for each week for each additional Adults. We don't charge for children or dogs. We ask guests to pay £100 with the booking and pay the balance 6 weeks before the holiday. If the booking is cancelled we will refund the advance payment in full.
