Hyde Farm offers two exceptionally well appointed, country holiday cottages that are located on a working farm, amongst glorious rolling countryside. Each holiday cottage sleeps up to four guests and affords lovely open views, private gardens with patios and plenty of parking.
A working mixed farm of some six hundred and fifty acres, Hyde Farm grows cereal crops including wheat, barley and rape, along with being home to a flock of sheep. The owners also have chickens, guinea fowl, geese, ducks and plenty of new born lambs in the spring.
Because the owners want you to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the surrounding countryside, there are not any slides, swings or play areas. However, children are welcome and there is plenty of open space with good local walks and fresh country air for you to enjoy.
The farm is located just one and a half miles from the small market town of Olney, one of the country's most attractive towns containing buildings mainly constructed from local limestone, adding to its charm. It also offers a wealth of tourist attractions, including places of historical interest, antique shops, four pubs, cafes, restaurants and plenty of free places to park the car. The town's focal point is the market place where there is a bustling general market held on a Thursday and a farmers market on the first Sunday of every month.
Hyde Farm Cottages provide a good central base for enjoying a holiday or business trip with Northampton, Wellingborough, Bedford and Milton Keynes, all within approximately eleven miles. There are plenty of interesting places to visit with something to suit all ages. Derngate Theatre is the main arts and entertainment venue in Northampton offering a diverse range of events where you can see some of the biggest names and shows on tour. The Xscape Building in Milton Keynes offers a unique combination of leisure activities and extreme sports for all ages. With the largest indoor REAL snow slopes in the country, a body flying tunnel, bowling, rock climbing walls, multiplex cinema, gym/fitness centre, urban retail outlets and numerous bars and restaurants, there is something for those who want to relax or those seeking thrill and adventure.
Woburn Abbey and Safari Park is too within easy reach. Set in a beautiful three thousand acre deer park, where you will see ten species of deer roaming, the Abbey lies at the heart of the Estate. Activities here are varied and wide including an award-winning Safari Park and world renowned Golf Club.
