Aird House sleeps up to six guests and nestles amongst glorious Scottish scenery in Argyll just 3-miles from the small village of Ardfern. Part of Aird Farm, the house sits at the tip of Craignish Peninsula enjoying magnificent views over the beautiful islands of Jura, Scarba, Mull and Luing, encompassing the Straits of Corryvrechyan (the infamous whirlpool between the isles of Jura and Scarba).
The house is run by the Campbell family who have been at Aird Farm since 1919. Covering some 1500 acres, Aird Farm is home to cattle and sheep and a truly beautiful setting for anyone who wants to get away from it all and relax and unwind amongst stunning Scottish scenery. There are some lovely walks on the farm from the front door allowing guests to make the most of the amazing views (just look at the photos!).
A popular haven for those with a passion for sailing, Ardfern has the Crafty Kitchen serving food with a craft shop within, post office, village store and the Galley of Lorne, a hotel where you can have a meal or drink. Neighbouring Craobh Haven also has a pub for eating out as well as a seafood restaurant and facilities for those who enjoy water sports. For those with a passion for horse riding, Ardfern Riding Centre offers pony trekking, lessons and western style riding.
This beautiful part of Scotland has its fair share of Neolithic burial grounds and standing stones. One example of a burial ground can be found at Aid Farm or head to the archaeology centre at Kilmartin Museum to find out more about pre-historic life in Scotland. Scotland's seafood capital and gateway to the Scottish Islands, Oban is twenty-seven miles away with lots of great shops and places for a meal.
