Location:

Tryst Cottage Ingleton is ideally placed in the picturesque Yorkshire village of Ingleton,  is within easy walking distance of the famous Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, artisan bars, and restaurants, pubs and shops.

Ingleton's pretty village sits right at the heart of the Three Peaks and offers a good choice of small local businesses for purchasing gifts, eating out, or taking away a meal or packed lunch.

There is an open-air swimming pool, caving shop, climbing and adventure experience business,  all just a short stroll from the gates of the cottage. A cycling shop on the outskirts of the village will provide all your needs for you cycle or E- bike.

The village is home to White Scar Caves, Britain's longest show cave, and one of the country's most famous waterfall trails with a picturesque circular wooded walk which attracts people from far and wide. There is also the smaller Ingleborough cave, where you can enjoy the cave tour with your dog on a lead.

Ingleton's pure natural beauty extends throughout every month of the year. Wonderful walks through the glorious Dales landscape can be enjoyed straight from the cottage, providing access to many beauty spots including the mountains of Whernside and Ingleborough.

The limestone structures are a geologist's delight, and there is even a Site of Special Scientific Interest to visit.

Sitting on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Tryst Cottage provides the perfect retreat for those who enjoy walking and exploring. There are walks for all abilities and ages, with books and maps provided for your use in the cottage that are full of suggestions and routes.

If you're looking for more sedate relaxing options, the area offers those too! Enjoy leisurely car rides along pretty country lanes; stunning scenery enroute. Or, take a trip on the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway from Ribblehead Station (fifteen minute car ride) - a spectacular route claimed to be the country's most scenic train journey.

For those who can tear themselves away from the beauty that surrounds Ingleton, there are plenty of fabulous day trips out.

Visit the historic market towns of Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale and Hawes, or the pretty villages of Dent with its cobbled streets. Malham with its breath-taking limestone scenery.

Discover the beauty of the Forest of Bowland (pony trekking is a great way of seeing the forest and indeed all of the three peaks due to its central location). The wider Dales, Cumbrian Coast, Lune Valley and even the Lake District with Windermere are accessible in just half an hour away by car.

The choices are endless and we are confident you will want to stay for more than a week!

Personally tailored Suggestions for During your Holiday.

Now in our 17th year of hosting guests in the cottage, and experiencing and exploring the area in great detail ourselves, I have a wealth of knowledge and information available to guests.

I would be delighted to provide you with personalised advice and information about the local and wider area and facilities if you are new to Ingleton or the Yorkshire Dales, or just looking for some updated suggestions, so that you can make the most of your stay.

Protecting the Environment

A new English made, Defra approved log burner was fitted in autumn 2023. This means you can enjoy the dancing flames of the burning logs, whilst knowing the fire is not emitting any particulates into the surrounding atmosphere.

Other major changes were made in the cottage in January 2020 to help combat climate changes.

Ingleton has much to offer that you can even have a wonderful holiday without the use of a car all week if you wish!

EV Charging

EV charging is available just around the corner in the main Ingleton car park.
