2 Stable Cottages sleeps four guests in two bedrooms and is located in the quiet village of Spennithorne nestling amidst Lower Wensleydale's glorious rolling countryside in North Yorkshire.
The area has much to offer and attractions to suit all ages in the immediate locality including Jervaulx Abbey, Middleham Castle and the lovely market town of Leyburn, and for the children, "The Forbidden Corner" close to Middleham is sure to be a hit with unusual buildings and a maze to explore.
Leyburn is a short car or bus journey away (a regular service runs from Spennithorne) and offers a good selection of shops and amenities including pubs and cafes. The Wensleydale Railway runs through the market town and there is a Tourist Information centre to help you plan your holiday and excursions. Just outside Leyburn is Tennants Auction House - the largest of its kind in North England, selling everything from fine antique furniture and memorabilia, making an interesting day out regardless of whether you want to buy anything!
The nearest Dales are Swaledale and Wensleydale offering a good variety of walks and beautiful scenery. The small market town of Hawes is half an hour’s drive from Spennithorne. A magnet for walkers, Hawes sits below the Pennines and is home to the Wensleydale Creamery.
A little further afield is the City of York, Pickering, Harrogate, Richmond and Durham. Beamish Open Air Museum and Hadrians Wall are too within easy reach, as are the North York Moors and the coastal towns of Scarborough and Whitby.
