1, Tan yr Eglwys (the larger cottage) is perfectly located for exploring both the beautiful beaches of the Gower and the stunning landscape of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This comfortable 4* cottage sleeps up to 6 people in 4 bedrooms, with a layout that suits families or friends. Being just 20 minutes from Swansea and the M4 the space and location also makes it ideal for business travellers who want a welcoming home away from home whilst they are working.
Swansea and the Gower are a wonderful holiday destination at any time of year. The cottage is in the hamlet of Cilybebyll and close to an area affectionately known as Waterfall Country. Within a short drive are memorable walks and spectacular views. Other local footpaths include a walk along the Swansea valley and Neath valley canals. Visitors can also walk or cycle along the Richard Burton Trail, named in honour of the famous actor who was born and bred in the Afan valley. Margam Country Park and Aberavon beach are nearby.
If it is sunny head for Swansea Bay and walk, cycle or skate around the curving trail that leads to the Mumbles. If you enjoy cycling, the Sustrans route 43 is only 10 minutes from the cottage, leading to Swansea and beyond. The Millennium Coastal Path is a 1/2 hour drive from the cottage at Llanelli, it stretches for 22km around the coast and is navigable by foot or cycle. If an avid mountain biker, then the mountain bike trails at Afan Argoed and beyond are a must. Attractions nearby include The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, The Alpaca Sanctuary, Pembrey Beach and Country Park, Dylan Thomas’ Boathouse and his birthplace at Cwmdonkin Drive, Oystermouth Castle and Dan yr Ogof Showcaves. Slightly further afield, but still close enough for a day trip near to Tenby are Folly Farm and the Manor Wildlife Park. Northwards from the cottage are the Brecon Beacon mountain railway, Hay on Wye and Pen y Fan, the highest peak in S. Wales.
Swansea is less than 30 minutes away, whilst Cardiff is an hour away. Adventure and fun awaits the guests at Tan yr Eglwys , the cottage and its location is perfect for combining city pleasures with the beauty of the Welsh countryside.
The cottage has a traditional layout with accommodation over two levels.
Outside: There is a sheltered patio garden at the rear of the cottage, with garden furniture for guests to enjoy eating alfresco in warm weather. The front garden has an area of lawn, a playhouse, off-street parking and secure bike storage.
Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, sheets and bath towels are provided. A travel cot (no bedding) and highchair are available. Smoking and pets are not permitted.
