Oak View Lodge is perfect for couples wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Set in four acres of private oak woodland and paddock, and backing onto a nature reserve, you can enjoy the simple pleasures of listening to birdsong and spoting the local wildlife whilst still enjoying a few luxuries such as your own private hot tub. The kitchen has everything you need for a self-catering holiday but if you decide you would rather not cook the Fox Inn Pub is just a short walk away. Sleeping four guests in two bedrooms there is plenty of space for couples or friends to enjoy a peaceful self-catering getaway.
Located in the heart of the village of Newbourne, Oak View Lodge is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Not only are there fantastic countryside walks from the front door but the vibrant town of Ipswich is only a 15-minute drive away. Alternatively, just 15-minutes in the other direction is the beautiful Suffolk coast. Take a stroll along the prom lined with colourful beach huts and enjoy fish and chips on the pier in the seaside town of Felixstowe. If you are feeling brave you can take a dip in the sea at one of the many surrounding beaches. Keen anglers have the choice of fishing at the private Carp lake which is just a ten minute walk away at the main Steadings Park site, or try your luck at Orwell and Deben Rivers.
Just a short drive arrive away, the historic market town of Woodbridge is a lovely place to spend a day. If you don't fancy getting in your car it is an easy cycle ride here too. Stock up on goodies at the local markets and delis and take a stroll along the riverside paths. And keen archaeologists should visit the fascinating Anglo-Saxon royal burial site at the National Trust's Sutton Hoo. Alternatively you can visit Framlingham or Orford Castle or the Aviation Museum at Martlesham.
Whilst there is plenty to do on holiday here, you might simply decide to spend a few days enjoying the tranquil and serene setting at Oak View Lodge. Relax on the decking with a good book or take a stroll through the adjoining Newbourne Springs Nature Reserve. Whatever you decide to do on holiday, nothing beats sitting back at the end of the day in a warm tub of bubbles with a glass of fizz as you listen to the owls hooting in the trees and the stars twinkling in the sky.
