Linnell End is a spacious, light and luxurious holiday cottage in Aldeburgh on the Suffolk Coast. The beautifully presented house is ideal for families or friends. It comfortably sleeps seven people in four bedrooms with two bathrooms, two reception rooms, and a private garden. It's child and dog-friendly with lots of thoughtful features that guests love. The location on a quiet private lane is fantastic. There's no concern that passing traffic noise will disturb your slumber or interrupt the conversation at your barbecues, and you're mere minutes from the beach, yacht club, shops, cafes and restaurants.
Aldeburgh is the sort of place people adore too much to stop going just because they grow up. Often referred to as 'England’s best unspoilt Seaside Town', there is no impersonal atmosphere of a touristy resort or being underwhelming in winter the way some coastal towns are, it has a welcoming village feel all year round. You'll find that many families on the beach or relaxing in the seaside cafes have been visiting for at least two generations, if not longer. The gorgeous landscape has inspired writers and artists for more than a century.
Throw your swimming trunks on for a dip before breakfast - you're that close to the beach when you stay at Linnell End. Alternatively, save your appetite for steaming fish and chips or a traditional smokie from a wooden shack after walking along the shingle shore to Orford Ness Nature Reserve, passing the Martello tower on your way to see the seals. If you're visiting with children, take them on a trip north to Thorpeness Meare. It's an adventure they'll never forget! The huge boating lake was built to delight children, featuring islands named by J.M. Barrie and plentiful rowboats, canoes, dingies and sailing boats to get you there.
The Suffolk Coast is fabulous in every season. Beautiful beaches, miles of cycling paths, excellent places to eat and drink, and towns and villages with quirky museums, independent cinemas, boutiques and homeware shops all await. The calendar of events is especially exciting between April and September, but you'll never run out of things to do during your stay at Linnell End.
