About Rosebud Cottage

Rosebud Cottage sleeps three guests in two bedrooms and sits at the foot of the South Downs National Park in the small historic town of Steyning in West Sussex. Just minutes from footpaths, the cottage is ideal for walkers and also conveniently located for visiting the Sussex coast (just five miles); the city of Brighton and Hove (ten miles) and also within easy reach of London with a regular train service from Shoreham by Sea (five miles).

Perfectly positioned, this 1850’s holiday cottage sits in the very heart of Steyning, close to the High Street with its interesting shops, restaurants and pubs serving tasty food. The small traditional English town has a Norman church and a museum where you can learn about the local history.

Rosebud Cottage offers light and bright self-catering accommodation and is well presented with a charming garden where you can relax and unwind at the end of the day. When you arrive you will be welcomed by a delicious cake and everything required to make yourself a cup of tea or coffee. Guests have the use of internet access and the cottage is equipped with a flat screen television, DVD player, oven, hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine and microwave.

Steyning was formerly an important town in Sussex with a harbour and you can stroll around the picturesque town with a booklet (provided in the cottage) and admire the buildings of architectural and historic significance. For those who enjoy walking, the cottage is very close to a number of footpaths which lead to the South Downs National Park. Just a mile from the South Downs Way and three miles from the ancient fort at Chanctonbury Ring, there are plenty of wonderful views to enjoy locally over the rolling South Downs.

The vibrant city of Brighton and Hove is just thirty minutes by car (or take the train from Shoreham by Sea). With its iconic pier, spectacular pavilion and plethora of restaurants, shops and attractions (such as the Brighton Toy and Model Museum and the Fishing Museum), it is a must to visit. Garden lovers will want to visit Sussex Prairie Garden at Henfield and Highdown near Worthing (both five miles) or alternatively enjoy a good book and the flowers in the garden of Rosebud Cottage!

Location (The South Downs)

Rosebud Cottage offers traditional yet stylish and comfortable holiday accommodation, furnished and decorated to a high standard throughout. Warm and cosy during the colder months and cool in the summer, it is an ideal holiday retreat all year round.

Accommodation comprises:

  • Light living room with comfortable seating for three, flat screen television, DVD player, free Wi-fi, digital radio and iPod docking.
  • Well-equipped kitchen with a modern range of appliances including oven, hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine and microwave. There is also a small dining table.
  • Double bedroom with wardrobe, chest of drawers and hand-painted bedside cabinets.
  • Roomy single bedroom with wardrobe and chest of drawers.
  • Ground floor bathroom where you can take a refreshing shower or soothing bath.

Outside: There is a very pretty garden behind the cottage - perfect for a glass of wine whilst admiring the blooms!

Additional information: Flexible changeover. Any three days cost 75% of weekly rate; four days 80%; five days 85%. Bed linen, towels, electricity and heating included in the price. Parking is possible in the street. The garden is fenced, but small children would have to be supervised outside as there is a steep bank leading down to the millstream on the far side of the fence. The cottage may not be suitable for the elderly or those with mobility problems, as although the stairs have a handrail, they are quite steep and the toilet is downstairs. Unfortunately pets are not allowed.
