About Glastonbury Rose Cottage

Glastonbury Rose Cottage is a charming period holiday cottage offering 4-Star accommodation in the heart of Glastonbury. If you're looking for a cottage with loads of character, you'll love this Victorian property with its individual style that feels completely at home in this magical town. The end-of-terrace property has been carefully furnished to provide a welcoming home-away-from-home for couples, families, or friends. It sleeps four people in two bedrooms and is a stone's throw cafes, shops and the friendly Mitre pub.

Glastonbury has a fantastic atmosphere. It has been a place of pilgrimage and worship for millennia, and you don't have to be a religious person to appreciate the energy that has imbued the atmosphere from thousands of years of prayers and meditation. Wander around Glastonbury Abbey and its 37 acres of parkland. The Abbey was destroyed by Henry VIII's Reformation but remains a significant site to this day, with links to Joseph of Arimathea and King Arthur. The Chalice Well is another place of sanctuary and solace, and the walk up Glastonbury Tor - for sunrise, if you can wake early enough - is not to be missed.

Somerset is famed for its gorgeous countryside, and the area around Glastonbury is no exception. Take your binoculars to the RSPB Ham Wall Reserve to the west of town, or explore the Somerset Levels and the Avalon Marshes along footpaths to Godney Gander, Wearyall Hill, Butt Moor, and the Brue. Further afield are the Mendips and the Quantocks.

Day trips can include visiting Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge. You can bag a bargain with outlet shopping at Clark's Village, wander around Wells and admire its medieval cathedral, or visit the ancient stone circles at Avebury and Stonehenge. Other places to visit include the Somerset Museum of Rural Life, White Spring Well, the tiny St Margaret's Chapel and Magdalene Almshouses. The Glastonbury Goddess Temple is across the road from the cottage.

Glastonbury is a once in a lifetime holiday destination for some visitors, while for others, it is somewhere they come for solace and restoration. Whatever your reason for coming, you'll find Glastonbury Rose Cottage ready to welcome you.
