Y Wern is an attractive stone holiday home in the seaside town of Llanfairfechan near Bangor on the North Welsh coast. Colourful townhouses face the sand-and-shingle beach, and the Carneddau Mountains beckon with the promise of fantastic walks and panoramic views over Snowdonia and the Menai Straits. The house sleeps up to eight people in four bedrooms and is full of period character, boasting a huge garden and 12 acres of grounds. It is only a 20-minute walk from the beach, shops and The Village Inn. Y Wern is perfect for a holiday with family and friends all year round.
There's nowhere like North Wales. Rugged mountains lead down through fertile farmland to sandy shores. There are pretty towns and villages scattered around the coast and the countryside, and you're never far from a hospitable coffee shop, pub or restaurant. The Victorians loved this part of Britain and left their mark with their houses, shops and seafront promenade. The Blue Flag beach rarely feels busy, while a walk along the coastal footpath towards Glan Mor Elias nature reserve is always a pleasure. The altitude climbs once you head east out of town, with hills and mountains for hiking and mountain biking. Fishing, windsurfing and sailing on the Menai Straits are popular pastimes, as is golf.
Attractions within easy reach include Surf Snowdonia, Zip World Velocity, the National Trust's Bodnant Garden, Penrhyn Castle, and Aber Falls. Take a day trip over the water to Anglesey, marvel at the might of Caernarfon Castle, and take the Snowdon Mountain Railway from Llanberis to the peak of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa, in Welsh). You're never far from beauty or adventure when you stay at Y Wern, where the town is always welcoming and the scenery unforgettable.
