The Old Farmhouse and Cottage, or Yr Hen dy Fferm in Welsh, is the jewel in the crown of Geufron Farm cottages. This spacious building dates from the 17th Century and can comfortably sleep up to nine people in four gorgeous bedrooms with the option to accommodate an extra two in the adjoining Little Cottage. The Old Farmhouse boasts thick stone walls, original oak beams and incredible views over the countryside to Cardigan Bay. The Little Cottage is every bit as appealing and has its own entrance with a king-size bedroom and shower room, as well as its own living space with log burner and kitchen. The Old Farmhouse is perfect for big families and groups of friends and equally appealing to extended families who want to holiday together whilst enjoying their own private space in The Little Cottage. Guests have the exclusive use of a private outdoor swimming pool (between may to the end of September) and there are beautiful walks from the doorstep including to the friendly local pub, the Peniarth Arms and Y Bryn restaurant.
Geufron Farm is a non-working farm nestled in 20 private acres of Snowdonia National Park. The location is fantastic for a holiday at any time of the year. Hiking and mountain biking are two favourite ways to enjoy this incredible landscape, with local footpaths leading through the stunning and sparsely populated Dysynni Valley. Walk beside the Talyllyn Railway narrow-gauge line to the site of Castell Cynfal for panoramic views, or follow the Afon Dysynni towards Ynysmaengwyn. Pack a picnic to enjoy at the Dolgoch Falls or Nant Gwernol waterfall, or explore what's left of the Bryn Eglwys Slate Quarry. The Wales Coast Path offers incredible views over Cardigan Bay where you can spot bottlenose dolphins and porpoises as well as a myriad of sea birds.
Tywyn's Blue Flag beach is less than three miles from The Old Farmhouse, so it's easy to drive or cycle for a day at the seaside. The sandy beach is dog-friendly, so everyone can enjoy running along the sand or paddling in the water. If it's raining, check out the screening times at The Magic Lantern cinema where they have been showing the latest releases and old favourites since 1919. Another popular choice with families wanting a beach day is Aberdyfi which is just a few miles away and particularly good for paddle boarding, crabbing off the pier, gift shopping and lazy days on a lovely beach. Other popular days out can include a journey on the Tallyn Railway, wandering around the shops and admiring the Victorian seafront at Aberystwyth, mooching around Dolgellau, fishing, playing golf, horse riding or simply sitting in a quiet spot and immersing yourself in the peace and tranquillity of the location.
There are three other fabulous self-catering properties at Geufron Farm, sleeping between two and five people. Depending on availability, the farmhouse and cottages can be booked together to accommodate groups of friends and extended families. Please see the owner's website for details.

The owners of The Old Farmhouse and Cottage have entirely refurbished and updated its interior so it feels fresh and welcoming, with a contemporary mix of modern comforts and period features.

Outside: Part of the garden features an outdoor heated swimming pool with a deck and sun loungers for the exclusive use of guests staying at The Old Farmhouse. There is also a paved terrace with a table and chairs close to the house, and off-street parking. The far-reaching views from the garden and terrace are stunning and you'll happily spend as much time outdoors as possible. The owners have built a large enclosed dog field/walk for guests with pets - particularly handy for dogs who like an early morning or late night walk!
The Little Cottage: During May to September the Little Cottage is only available to rent to guests staying at The Old Farmhouse, ensuring plenty of privacy for your group. This lovely cottage for two has its own private entrance and a cosy sitting room with log burner, a kitchen should guests want to prepare a snack or meal, a king-size bedroom and a shower room.
Additional information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. Up to four house trained dogs welcome (pls speak to the owner if you would like to bring more). Group bookings can dine 10 in the dining room and 9 in the kitchen (so kids could eat in the kitchen and adults in the dining room). The local laundrette is happy to pick up and drop off any washing. Cot and high chairs can be provided along with dog/baby gates.
