Snowdon View is a characterful stone cottage where old and new mix smoothly to provide very comfortable self-catering accommodation for up to six guests in three bedrooms. The owners have created a light, vibrant space where bright colours complement the natural greys of the local stone and slate, with fantastic views of the top of Snowdon (on a clear day!) and the South Menai Straits. It's a brilliant choice for families or friends who can't wait to get out and explore the stunning Snowdonia National Park but who also want somewhere comfortable where they can relax in the evenings. There's a cafe within walking distance.
The cottage is in the quiet village of Dinorwic on the north-western border of the Snowdonia National Park, and close to the Menai Strait and Anglesey. It's a fantastic choice if you can't decide between a holiday in the mountains or at the beach because both are so readily accessible. Llyn Padarn, a glacial lake with crystal clear water, is a favourite local spot for kayaking, bodyboarding and swimming. Other nearby attractions include Zip World, Surf Snowdonia, Electric Mountain and the Slate Museum.
The biggest reason people visit Snowdonia is to summit the peak of Snowdon, either on foot or in the carriage of the Victorian Snowdon train which has been conveying sightseers from Llanberris to the top of the mountain for more than a century. The station is only a 15-minute drive from the cottage or a leisurely 40-minute walk through Padarn Country Park where beautiful views will whet your appetite for the panorama from the top.
After a day hiking and mountain biking, spend a day sunning yourself on the beautiful beaches of Anglesey, between 25 and 40 minutes by car from the cottage. Alternatively, drive the same distance to Llandudno and enjoy the attractions in the popular Victorian seaside resort. Caernarfon and its majestic castle are less than 10 miles away, while Conwy and Bangor are also within half an hour's drive.
Snowdon View is beautifully furnished with wood burners in the kitchen/diner and the living room, as well as a garden with gorgeous views and furniture, so it doesn't matter what time of the year you stay here, you will be comfortable and relaxed.
