About Isfryn Cottage

Isfryn Cottage is in the charming village of Aberangell in the Dyfi Valley, on the border of southern Snowdonia. It's an idyllic location convenient for mountains and the coast and only a short drive from Dolgellau and Barmouth. The one-bedroom holiday cottage provides a comfortable place where couples or individuals can escape to the beauty of mid-Wales with its spectacular scenery, engaging culture, and fantastic food. Guests are greeted with the delicious sight of freshly baked bread, homemade cake and jam, milk and butter so you can put the kettle on and feel at home straight away. The superking-sized bed can be separated into two single beds, making the cottage perfect for friends as well.

The Dyfi Valley is well-known for its beautiful footpaths and plentiful mountain bike trails so, if you're here for an outdoor adventure, you'll find it! Cadair Idris is a favourite, especially via the Minffordd Path, around half an hour's drive from the cottage. Aran Fawddwy and the Aran Ridge offer a challenge to relish, starting around 20 minutes from the house. Also within a short drive are The Waun Oer Ridge, Ratgoed Loop, and the Mawddach Trail, which is nice and flat and can be walked or cycled from Dolgellau to Barmouth. Trails accessible from the cottage include the scenic Cefnbyriaeth Loop and the Pen y Clipiau. Both only take around 45 minutes to walk, but you'll want to pack a snack for the Cwm Gast Loop, Mynydd Tri Arglwydd Loop, and Cemmaes Loop. Road cyclists will love the Bwlch y Groes mountain pass, part of the National Cycle Route 8. Mountain bikers can get muddy at Coed-y-Brenin, Dyfi Bike Park, and ClimachX trail.

Barmouth and beautiful beaches are just over 20 miles or around half an hour by car from Isfryn. There's nothing nicer than a day at the beach in almost any weather, whether you're relaxing in the sunshine on a summer day or a winter walking along the coast and working up an appetite for a pub lunch. Aberangell is at the junction of the Angell and Dyfi Rivers, so between them and the beach, there's plenty to keep anglers happy. Golf and birdwatching are two more popular activities guests of Isfryn Cottage enjoy. Places to go on a day out are Machynlleth, Aberystwyth, and Harlech, with attractions including the Corris Craft Centre, King Arthur's Labyrinth, the Centre for Alternative Technology, Corris Mine Explorers, Snowdon Mountain Railway, and Great Little Trains of Wales.
