Cae'r Blaidd is a welcoming Victorian house near Ffestiniog in the centre of Snowdonia National Park and within walking distance of the community-run Y Pengwern pub. It is spacious and comfortable, with seven lovely bedrooms accommodating up to 20 people with stunning views of the Moelwyn Mountains and Vale of Ffestiniog. You'll wake every morning raring to head out into the glorious wilderness and scale mountains, to visit historic sites and monuments and to generally have the time of your life. The elegant country house is perfect for extended families and groups of friends.
Snowdonia is an enormous adventure playground with endless opportunities for fun all year round. Hiking, mountain biking, caving, climbing, abseiling, 4x4 driving, whitewater rafting, and gorge walking are all readily accessible, with local businesses providing guided tours and equipment hire for those who desire it. The house has secure indoor bike storage, and is a favourite with mountain bikers who appreciate the proximity to the Antur Stiniog trails.
Nearby lakes are heaven for anglers, especially those who enjoy the challenge of landing rainbow and brown trout. Golfers can make excellent use of the Porthmadog Golf Club whose views over Cardigan Bay are some of the finest of any golf course in the country.
Nearby attractions include the surf lagoon and climbing wall at Adventure Parc Snowdonia, and the high ropes course at Zip World Fforest. It doesn't have to be a nice day to have fun at Go Below in Betws-y-Coed and the Zip World Slate Caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog. Take a trip to the top of Snowdon on the historic Snowdon Mountain Railway, or enjoy a journey through the countryside and along the coast on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway or the Llanberis Lake Railway.
It wouldn't be a proper holiday in Wales without a visit to at least one castle. At Cae'r Blaidd, you are spoiled for choice with Caernarfon, Harlech and Criccieth about 18 miles away. This part of Wales is famous for its slate. Visitors can learn more about this industry at the National Slate Museum and the slate caverns at Llechwedd and Llanfair, while the Sygun Copper Mine showcases a different subterranean industry. Portmeirion's brightly coloured and highly decorated buildings brighten even the greyest of days, or pack a picnic and spend a day on the beach.
Plenty of space and excellent amenities at Cae'r Blaidd means that you and your guests will be able to relax and feel at home from the moment you arrive.
