Bwthyn Siabod Cottage is a traditional holiday home in the Snowdonia village of Dolwyddelan, a few hundred metres from the castle and the foot of Moel Siabod. Whether you're planning an adventure-packed stay or a relaxing self-catering break, the newly refurbished property provides a beautiful place from which to see and do everything your heart desires. There is plenty of space for four people to sleep in two very comfortable bedrooms (one king and one twin), and the cottage is ideal for couples or families in all seasons. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, but the Gwydyr pub is down the road, and Elen's Castle restaurant a five minute walk away.
You'll love the convenience of staying in Dolwyddelan. The location is handy for some of the best sights and attractions in Snowdonia. There is no risk of being bored with Zipworld Titan and the Antur Stiniog Bike Park ten minutes from the door. Add a mere five minutes to your journey to find yourself in Betws-y-Coed and Zipworld Fforest, while Surf Snowdonia and Bodnant Gardens are within half an hour. You're also close to Conwy and its magnificent medieval castle and walls, still as imposing as when constructed on the orders of Edward I in 1283.
There are miles of footpaths, bridleways and multi-use trails around Dolwyddelan. The hosts will provide you with information for a number of local walks in Dolwyddelan, taking in the fantastic views of the Afon Lledr and up to the castle. The castle walls may have crumbled but the views are as spectacular as they were centuries earlier, reaching as far as the Snowdon horseshoe. Visitors coming to scale Snowdon (called "Yr Wyddfa" in Welsh) can do so on foot, via the Victorian passenger train, or on a mountain bike. If choosing the latter between May and September, you'll need to go up before 10am or after 5pm.
Bwthyn Siabod Cottage is available for holiday bookings all year round. It's dog-friendly and child-friendly, though guests should be aware that the internal staircase is quite steep. A stairgate, highchair and travel cot are all available - please request these when booking.
