The enclosed secure garden with well stocked borders and large patio area is ideal for outside entertaining or enjoying the sunshine, a BBQ is available. Catering can be provided for any occasion. 2 well behave dogs are also welcome to join you for your stay. The house has superfast broadband making watching catch-up or gaming a breeze for the young ones!

Newcastleton sits near to the English counties of Cumbria and Northumberland, making Hadrian’s wall and The Lakes within easy reach. Surrounded by wonderful rolling countryside, this peaceful rural haven provides an ideal setting where you can relax and truly unwind. It is wild in the winter and breath taking in summer, making it ideal all year round.
This is a great location for those who enjoy cycling with the world-renowned 7stanes mountain bike trails easily accessible nearby, there is also a MTB skills area and forest trails for those looking for a more leisurely cycle ride. Kielder Forest is a 30 min drive away offering more trails, walks and water sports as well as the Dark Skies – a night at the observatory is a must. Rock UK, the local activity centre can provide almost any outdoor activity you like; try kayaking, abseiling, archery or fencing or much more including the zip wire! If the waters are running you can fish for salmon or sea trout on the rivers Esk and Liddel (permits can be purchased locally during season). The challenging nine-hole golf course is one you will remember, and worth the effort to take in breath taking views. Alternatively go pony trekking through the forest - a great way to explore the surrounding area.

Visit the local heritage museum; trace your family tree at the Hawick Heritage Hub, take a scenic drive along the Reivers Route taking in Mangerton and Hermitage Castle, famous sites where you can stand on the ground where Reiver battles once took place.
Local towns include Hawick famous for its textiles, visit Wilton House and their beautiful gardens or Drumlanrig Tower; Langholm, the birthplace of Thomas Telford offers wonderful walking country where you can climb to the top of surrounding hills and take in the superb views. Discover the magnificent ruins of Dryburgh Abbey and also Melrose Abbey, a grand and spectacular sight; spend time strolling around the grounds of Abbotsford House where Sir Walter Scott once lived sitting on the river banks of the Tweed; At Harestanes spend some time visiting the crafts workshops and Woodside Walled garden, a gem of a nursery where you can indulge in home baking and a pot of tea. Gretna is also worth visiting with its gift shops to browse and shopping outlets.

Additional information: Bed linen, towels, bathmats, heating, hot water and broadband internet included in the price. Catering can be arranged with the owner from a full service sit down meal to ready prepared suppers you can pop in the oven (perfect for arrival or when you fancy a night off cooking). Generous supply of wood, kindling and coal provided. Regardless of the length of stay dogs are welcome and are charged at £15 each (max two). Cot with bedding available at £20. Maid service available at £30 per day – 9:30 till 12:30 daily or when you choose. High chair available.
