Courtyard House sleeps up to six guests in three en-suite bedrooms and is positioned in between Roxburghshire and North Northumberland right on top of the Scottish Borders. Refurbished to a high standard and beautifully presented, this delightful holiday home is located at Holefield Farm within the wing of a huge Edwardian farmhouse. Ideal for families and friends, this is an ideal base for exploring both the Scottish Borders and Northumberland including nearby Kelso and Coldstream.
The farm house (including Courtyard House) is nicely positioned away from the working farm and nestles amongst peaceful attractive gardens with lawns, borders and trees, creating a tranquil environment from which to relax when you are not out enjoying the areas many attractions.
There is plenty to do and see in this lovely area. For those who enjoy shopping, the local Borders market towns are within easy driving distance where you will find arts and crafts. The cities of Edinburgh and Newcastle are too within easy reach (an hour by car or even quicker if you jump on a train from Berwick station).
There are plenty of wonderful walks for both the more adventurous hiker, or those looking for a more gentle stroll. Within a ten minute drive you will find the River Tweed where you can enjoy fishing, and the area offers a great choice of golf courses (including ‘Roxburgh’, a championship golf course).
Children will find plenty to amuse themselves with the beach, Jedburgh Deer Park and Harestanes Visitor Centre being just a half hour drive away. The swimming pool (open to the public) at Berwick provides lots of water based fun with flume and wave machine. The pathways surrounding Kelso offer accessibility for horse riders and cyclists and the farm has a cross country course for guests who would like to bring their horses on holiday as grazing can be provided (by prior arrangement).
With an abundance of historic sites and buildings throughout the area (Alnwick Castle, Floors Castle and Mary Queen of Scots House in Jedburgh to name just a few) you will not be short of things to do on your holiday.
