Blackpotts Farm Cottage is perfect for people who visit Scotland for the open space, beauty and incredible views. This holiday cottage sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms with a layout that is exceptionally comfortable for couples or small families. The location high above the conservation village of Coldingham (with unrivalled sea views) is ideal for exploring not only the Scottish Borders but also Northern Northumbria and the region's breathtaking beaches and coastline.
Coldingham could not be a better choice for a holiday in the beautiful Scottish Borders. The friendly village has a village shop and post office, and a family-run butcher and there are many local festivities and events throughout the year for visitors to enjoy. Coldingham Bay is a mile from the centre of the village with an award-winning beach and consistently favourable surfing conditions, as well as a lifeguard service for those hardy enough to brave the North Sea for a summertime swim. It is easy enough to drive or cycle to the beach, or by walking along the Berwickshire Coastal Path that goes between Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Cocksburnpath.
Day trips from Blackpotts Farm Cottage can include a visit to nearby Eyemouth, about four miles away, with a picturesque harbour where visitors can arrange a boat trip. Alternatively, head two miles north to the scenic village of St Abbs to charter a boat for fishing, diving and seal watching in the incredibly clear water around the coast. Fans of Marvel "Avenger" films may recognise St Abbs as the filming location for New Asgard.
Berwick-Upon-Tweed is close by, with impressive Elizabethan ramparts, castle ruins and a variety of independent shops and cafes. Slightly further afield but still within easy reach for a day out are Dunbar and Edinburgh, about 30 minutes and an hour by car respectively.
Walking, cycling, fishing and golf are all favourite activities for both locals and visitors. Guests seeking peace and solitude will find it in this rural setting where the fields opposite are home to a herd of shaggy Highland cattle, the farming community is also very welcoming to visitors who want to join in local festivals and events.
