Location:

Daisypop Cottage is nestled in the peaceful village of Hackthorpe, only a few minutes drive from The Lake District National Park! A 5 minute drive will take you to the stunning Lowther Castle with its wonderful gardens, cafe, cycling trails and huge adventure playground! There is also direct access here to the Ullswater Way, offering vast opportunities for walking trails that provide spectacular views of Lake Ullswater!

The popular town of Pooley Bridge is just a 15 minute drive away, home of the Ullswater Steamer: a wonderful experience for all ages to enjoy the spectacular beauty of the lake and surrounding fells.

There is a dog friendly pub just across the road that offers home cooked traditional food. Also within a 5 minute drive are 3 gastro pubs serving high quality meals and also the Michelin Starred Askham Hall for those special celebrations!

There are many opportunities for outdoor swimming locally. Ullswater is very popular for wild swimming and also paddle boarding and kayaking. There are also two outdoor swimming pools nearby, in the local villages of Askham and Shap.

The thriving town of Penrith is a 15 minute drive and offers a huge selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants.

It is a 30 minute drive to the popular town of Keswick with its many cafes, restaurants and of course, the beautiful Lake Derwentwater.

Lake Derwentwater

30 minutes drive to the popular town of Keswick on Lake Derwentwater. There are many tourist attractions, shops, cafes & restaurants, boat trips and huge opportunities for amazing walks in the area.
