Escape to the country in our dog-friendly cottage at the gateway to the Dales.

The Yorkshire Dales is one of England's greatest natural resources.  Walking, cycling, rock climbing, tennis, and many country pursuits including fishing, golf, clay pigeon shooting, pony trekking and falconry can all be enjoyed within a few miles of the cottage.

The stunning landscapes have been attracting film-makers for decades.  Many will remember the heartwarming classic BBC TV series All Creatures Great & Small about a country vet, which brightened our Sunday nights in the 1970s and 80s.  It has recently been successfully rebooted with a new version from Channel 5.  The local area has provided a background to such big screen titles as The History Boys (Ripon), Calendar Girls (Kettlewell), and The Secret Garden (Conistone Moor near Grassington).

Located in the unspoilt village of Fearby, with its wide village greens, and less than two miles from the famous market town of Masham, Bramblewick is a stone-built Dales cottage, and is most people’s idea of a traditional country retreat.  Within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the property is surrounded by fields on three sides and has marvellous views from the bedroom and lounge windows.  A short drive will take you to its more illustrious neighbour Wensleydale (after which the famous cheese was named) and includes such market towns as Leyburn, and Hawes - the site of the cheese dairy.  Picturesque villages include Askrigg, Bainbridge and Wensley.  Waterfalls will be found at Aysgarth and West Burton, where the scene was painted by Turner.

Complete with its own off-road parking space and enclosed south-facing garden, Bramblewick Cottage sleeps 4 in comfort, and boasts both a large en-suite shower room and a family bathroom as well as a dining kitchen and lounge with log-burner and window seat.

Ideally situated for touring North Yorkshire by car, cycle or on foot, there are walks from the front gate.  The Wensleydale heritage railway and The Forbidden Corner, a unique attraction that defies description, are just a few miles away, as are Middleham Castle and Jervaulx Abbey.

Unlimited fast fibre WiFi is included, and up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome, at no additional cost.  The property is strictly non-smoking.
