Welcome to the Stable in Curbar in the Peak District (Sleeps 2+2).

The Stable, Curbar in the Peak District National Park is newly refurbished with contemporary style. The 200 year old stone stable retains its stunning original features mixed with a modern look and a wood burning stove. With one bedroom the stable is perfect for a romantic weekend or a peaceful solo break while the comfortable double futon makes it perfect for friends as well. From the doorstep you can walk up to the beautiful Curbar Edge and also down to the Bridge Inn and along the pretty River Derwent.

The Peak District is the perfect holiday destination for walking and cycling, with a truly beautiful countryside:

Curbar Gap and Baslow Edge are simply a 10 minute walk up the hill. The Monsal Trail for cycling or walking with a panaromic view at Monsal Head is just a 10 minute drive. Barbrook reservoir for wild swimming is just beyond Curbar Edge and there is also the fantastic LadyBower Reservoir. For a day out, Chatsworth Estate is 10 minutes drive, as well as Haddon Hall, Gulliver’s Kingdom and Carsington Water (sailing, canoeing and windsurfing). Bakewell, a historic, quaint market town is 10 minutes drive that offers a weekly market and monthly farmer’s market.

In Curbar village there is Curbar Stables, The Eating House Café and The Bridge Inn. The Grouse Inn at the Longshaw estate (5 minutes drive) is excellent. Calver Spar (5 minutes drive) offers local produce and has a bakery that provides daily, fresh baguettes and croissants. Baslow’s Co-op is also a 5 minutes drive whilst Bakewell’s Aldi is 10 minutes away.
