Askrigg has a fine church, St Oswald’s, that sits in the heart of the village near to the old market cross.

Askrigg hosts three good pubs all serving a variety of food and local ales, a shop and tearoom where provisions and daily newspapers can be bought, a deli which sells daily baked bread, pies, pasties, cakes etc which also hosts a gift shop and sells delicious home made bistro meals to take away, there’s even a brewery in Askrigg, Yorkshire Dales Brewery, with its own beer garden and counter service shop.

Local bus service operates on a daily basis dropping off and picking up in the village.

Plenty of on and off street parking available very nearby at no cost. Parking directly outside the cottage for unloading/loading. It is also possible to park directly outside the cottage between 6pm and 9am every day.

The lounge contains TV with Netflix, free view channels and radio channels, relaxing sofas, dining table and chairs and a wood burning effect stove set on a stone hearth. There are plenty of books and maps on the local area and a selection of indoor games.

The modern stylish kitchen contains fan assisted oven, grill and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment as well as the complimenting pots, pans, cutlery and crockery.

Upstairs the property offers a double and a twin bedroom or two doubles if required. Both rooms have built in wardrobes. A hair dryer is also available.

The shower room has a shower, wash hand basin, toilet, and heated towel rail.

To the rear of the property is a secluded and private courtyard that makes a great place to store cycles and other sports equipment. This suntrap offers guests the opportunity of relaxing with a glass of wine after one of many dales walks. There’s also a great, private, covered seating area with comfortable outside sofas, lights and a halogen heater to extend the sitting out period. A fire pit/barbecue is also provided.

All bed linen, towels, tea towels, electricity, heating and water are included in the price.
