The Victorian town of Ilfracombe is within a mile of the cottages and has a great selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Located at the harbour is 'Verity', a large bronze statue, donated to the town by contemporary artist Damian Hirst.

In recent years, Ilfracombe has become more popular with visitors, especially around the harbour, where you can enjoy freshly caught seafood and locally produced ice-creams in a colourful and bustling environment. This Blue Flag beach has a tidal pool, which is popular with children who can enjoy playing with inflatables and snorkelling in safety.

The beach at the Tunnels is also licensed for weddings and many wedding parties, families and friends have stayed at Higher Mullacott Farm Cottages, which are only a short car drive or taxi ride away. Previous guests staying at the cottages have taken advantage of the beautiful gardens for some amazing photos pre and post wedding.
