About The West Wing, Alexander House

The West Wing at Alexander House is tucked away in the heart of Scotland in the Perthshire Hills just a few miles from the pretty town of Auchterarder and the village of Gleneagles. Whilst this fabulous holiday home is furnished to a high standard and includes plenty of luxurious touches such as a hot tub, an open fire and a four-poster bed, it exudes a cosy and homely feel where everyone, including children and dogs are made to feel welcome. Enjoy blissful evenings in the hot tub turret as you admire the stunning views, or enjoy a game of snooker in front of the roaring fire in the games room. The kids will love letting off steam in the play area and there are plenty of walks from the front door for your four-legged friends. Sleeping ten guests in four bedrooms, with two kitchen areas and bedrooms split over two floors it is the perfect self-catering holiday home for two families or a group of friends.

If you can tear yourself away from The West Wing you will find plenty to do in the surrounding area. Keen golfers can choose from a number of award-winning courses nearby, including three championship courses at Gleneagles, or try your hand at the 18 holes at Auchterarder. For the ultimate golf fan, St Andrews, with an impressive seven courses, is just an hour away or rise to the challenge of the infamous course at Pitlochry. Alternatively, there are plenty of adventurous activities on offer to satisfy any thrill seekers. Take to the water and enjoy a day out white-water rafting, canyoning or kayaking, or keep your feet firming on dry land on a 4x4 safari. Horse riding, fishing, mountain biking and clay shooting are also available locally, or simply enjoy a picturesque walk in the hills followed by an afternoon tea at Gleneagles.

The cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow are both just an hour away making it easy to indulge in some retail therapy and site seeing, or enjoy a day out at Perth Races. Castle fans can visit impressive fortresses at Stirling, Doune, Blair Atholl and Scone Palace, whilst whisky lovers can enjoy a tour and tipple at one of the local distilleries. If you would rather stay close to the comforts of ‘home’, the owners of The West Wing can arrange for you to enjoy a variety of activities at Alexander House. From pampering treatments and bespoke dance classes to bushcraft and cocktail making, there is plenty to keep the whole family happy here.

Larger groups can also book The East Wing which sleeps an additional fifteen guests. Please see the owner's website for more details. Short breaks are available throughout the year.
