Ogof is a wonderful Pembrokeshire holiday cottage in a tranquil rural location on the owner's smallholding in Nevern, with no immediate neighbours or passing traffic. It is incredibly quiet and restful. If you're searching for an escape - romantic or otherwise, you'll love it here, with panoramic views of the Preseli Hills and Mynydd Carningli. The one-bedroom cottage is perfect for couples and suits individuals who want to enjoy the best of Pembrokeshire's coast and countryside. The fantastic foodie town of Newport is just 10 minutes away, as are spectacular beaches and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
Nevern is so tiny that calling it a hamlet feels almost grandiose. In addition to its air of tranquillity and wonderful views, its biggest appeal to visitors is the choice of footpaths and cycling routes that thread their way through the area, leading to the coast, Preseli Hills, and places like Castell Henllys, Pentre Ifan and Carn Ingli. Shops, pubs and everything else you need are in Newport, a 10-minute drive from the cottage. Newport is a laid-back coastal town with a strong sailing community focused around the Parrog, Nevern Estuary and Newport Bay. It's hipster enough that you'll easily find a tasty breakfast and superb coffee, but still refreshingly unpretentious. Bargain hunters should set aside time to browse The Carningli Centre and its extensive collection of used books, antiques, railway signs and memorabilia. They also do bike hire if you need wheels. Newport also has a good range of shops for provisions including an established health food shop.
Set yourself up for the day with a hearty breakfast, then hit the hills or the coast, walking and cycling through some of the most beautiful landscape you'll ever see. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path attracts visitors all year round, while the hills beckon with just enough gradient to feel that climbing them is an impressive feat, without being too high that you're too tired to walk or cycle back home again. The Pembrokeshire coastline is home to a wealth of wildlife that includes seals and puffins. Book a wildlife sightseeing cruise, go coasteering or sea kayaking. Just don't forget your binoculars. Golf, horse riding, and surfing are three more popular activities easily accessible to guests who stay at Ogof.
