About The Stables

The Stables sleeps up to seven people in three bedrooms. It is one of five self-catering Pembrokeshire cottages on the Asheston estate that are the perfect choice for families and friends. The properties boast impressive eco-friendly credentials like the use of recycled materials and eco-friendly energy and heating, showing that "green" can be luxurious when done by the right people.

Asheston Eco Barns are just outside of Haverfordwest and close to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Whatever the time of year you visit, there is always something fun to do whether it's clambering around the coast on a guided coasteering adventure, learning to surf, walking the beautiful coastal footpath, or finding out more about this ancient landscape and the people who helped to shape it.

Pembrokeshire is possibly best known for its beautiful beaches, with Newgale Sands being only two miles and an easy drive or bike ride from the cottage. The pretty harbourside town of Solva is also only a short drive away. Other nearby beaches include Druidston Haven, Broad Haven, Little Haven and Marloes Sands. The conditions vary with some beaches being sheltered and perfect for swimming, and others being more exposed and better for surfing, kiteboarding and windsurfing.

The Pembrokeshire Coastal Footpath is only one of many beautiful footpaths around Asheston Eco Barns. Others include the path from the farm to Rhyndaston Mountain and Eweston Wood in Brandy Brook, as well as waymarked trails through the Preseli Mountains, and the Anghof Valley and Sealyham which include riverside paths beside the western Cleddau.

St David's is technically a city thanks to its magnificent Norman cathedral, although its size and amenities make it feel more like a busy market town. The beauty of the landscape and the quality of the light have attracted many artists to the area over the decades, and both St David's and nearby Solva are part of a thriving art community whose work is on show at the area's fantastic local galleries.

Days out can include shopping and sightseeing in Haverfordwest, admiring Pembroke Castle - the birthplace of Henry VII, eating ice-cream on the seafront in Tenby or saying "hi" to the animals at Folly Farm. Newport and Narbeth are both renowned for the quality of places to eat, and the region is dotted with independent pubs, cafes and restaurants serving food and drink grown and produced within the area.

The Stables is the biggest of the five eco-friendly Pembrokeshire holiday cottages at Asheston Barns and can be booked on its own or together with other cottages to accommodate extended families and groups of friends. The owner's website has more information.
