Wynfield sleeps six people in three double bedrooms, creating a wonderful holiday home in the Peak District from which families and friends can enjoy the very best the region offers. It's in historic Bakewell and only a few minutes walk from the River Wye, a stone packhorse bridge dating from 1664, the Monsal Trail, shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Guests love that it is conveniently close to the centre of town while still being peaceful and private. Accommodation is entirely on one level and is beautifully presented throughout, so it is ideal for a self-catering holiday in the Peak District in any season.
Bakewell is a popular place for a holiday yet has never lost the traditional charm that reflects its heritage as a busy market town. It has superb opportunities for walking and cycling, a thriving Monday market with more than one hundred traders, and a variety of other amenities that will make your holiday easy and relaxed, including a Michelin starred restaurant, and a microbrewery. The town is well known for Bakewell Pudding, a precursor of the Bakewell Tart. The delicious dessert was invented, some say by error, in the 1800s and makes a tasty way to replenish the energy used hiking and biking around the Derbyshire countryside. Photographers will appreciate the picturesque location with lots of opportunities for landscape and architecture photos, including the magnificent house and grounds of nearby Chatsworth House.
There's often something fun and unusual happening, so keep an eye on the local calendar to find out what's on during your stay. From farmers' markets to well dressing, agricultural shows and Christmas fairs, residents of Bakewell and the surrounding area know how to have fun while celebrating what makes their home so wonderful.
Day trips can include shopping and a spa day in Buxton, fly fishing for trout on the River Wye, horse riding, golf, and exploring underground at Poole's Cavern in Buxton Country Park. You're within easy reach of Matlock and Matlock Spa, the open-air Crich Tramway Museum, the Heights of Abraham, and Alton Towers. Wynfield is a single-storey holiday home set back from a quiet road with parking at the front and a quiet enclosed garden to the rear. It has hardwood floors and is accessible for guests who use a wheelchair. Please ask the owner if you need details about accessibility.
Outside: The driveway has space for four cars while the rear of the cottage has an enclosed garden with a lawn and a seating area.
Additional Infomation: Utilities, WiFi, a basket of logs, bed linen and bath towels are included. Children and well-behaved pets are welcome by arrangement. A travel cot (no bedding) and a highchair are available. The property is strictly non-smoking.
