Ivy cottage is a luxury award winning holiday cottage sitting in Winster, a beautiful Derbyshire village in the Peak District National Park. It can accommodate up to seven guests (plus two infants in cots) and is very bit as popular with friends and families, as it is with couples and smaller parties.
Spacious and beautifully presented throughout, this detached stone holiday home dates as far back as the 1800's and has lots of character and charm inside. It also has an exceptionally attractive south-facing garden perfect for relaxing when the sun shines whilst soaking up the fabulous countryside views.
Winster village is just a short stroll from Ivy Cottage. Steeped in history, the village once made its living from lead-mining and is noted in the Doomsday Book (1086). Winster with its busy social calendar of events, is an attractive village with many medieval buildings, a historic market hall (NT), two pubs serving excellent food, a post office and village shop selling a good range of provisions, playing fields, basketball, tennis courts and several playground areas.
The country's most visited National Park, the Peak District is a stunning landscape of rolling heather-clad moorland, undulating limestone dales and majestic gritstone edges. With over five hundred acres of rolling countryside to explore, it has many excellent walks and spectacular natural backdrops, as well as a wide range of attractions in the local area. These include: Bakewell; Matlock; Heights of Abraham; Carsington Water; Buxton; Chatsworth House and the High Peak Trail to name just a few.
Whether you are looking for a relaxing holiday or a base from which to explore the Peak District National Park, Ivy Cottage is a perfect retreat.
