High Peak House is a detached, dog-friendly holiday cottage in the Peak District. The detached farmhouse is excellent for family self-catering holidays as it can accommodate eight people in four bedrooms, including a twin/double room and shower room on the ground floor. The views are spectacular. You'll want to leave your curtains open at night to make the most of the stunning night skies and see the beautiful moors and mountains as soon as you wake up. High Peak House is in Tintwistle on the northern border of the national park, within walking distance of the Bull's Head pub and a popular bakery and coffee shop.
Tintwistle is part of the Longdendale Valley, best known for its incredible views. Despite its age (some of the timber-framed houses date back centuries), it has a lively buzz and a small but thriving community. The landscape has hills, moorland, a reservoir and rivers, so it suits most outdoor activities. You can access miles of footpaths and bridleways from the cottage, including a favourite scenic route through nearby woodlands to a chain of waterfalls. Try your hand at fly-fishing or hire a rowing boat at a reservoir only five minutes walk from the cottage. If you'd rather stay dry, there are plenty of fantastic bike trails nearby.
Manchester is 12 miles from Tintwistle, and you're also really close to the mills and moors of Saddleworth. Local attractions include Chatsworth House with its magnificent collections in the house, incredible gardens, farmyard and adventure playground. Take a ride on the Heights of Abraham cable car for panoramic views, or enjoy the more ground-level sights of Manor Park. You're close to the market town of Glossop when you want to browse shops and buy groceries and only 45 minutes from the upmarket boutiques in the spa town of Buxton.

Outside: There is an enclosed porch with views over a reservoir and mountains at the front of the cottage, and an enclosed garden with outdoor seating and lots of room to run and play. The garden is visited regularly by hares, pheasants and deer, and you'll hear owls even if you don't see them. There is parking for four cars outside the house.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen, bath towels and an initial supply of wood and kindling for the log burners are provided. There is a one off £150 housekeeping fee per stay. Dogs are welcome at a cost of £25 per dog. Guests will need to bring dog beds and blankets. A travel cot and a high chair are available. The cottage is a non-smoking property.
