Little Garth sleeps up to five guests in three bedrooms and is located in Normanby in North Yorkshire, within easy reach of the North York Moors National Park. A charming Grade II listed holiday cottage that dates back to around 1855, Little Garth still retains many of its lovely original features with oak beams on the ceilings and a wonderful open fire in the sitting room.
A cosy retreat at any time of the year, the cottage is well equipped and beautifully presented to a high standard. Dogs are welcome at no extra charge by prior arrangement and the cottage affords a lovely large enclosed garden at the back with patio area for relaxing and plenty of space to for the little ones (and the four legged ones!) to let off steam. There is also a smaller front garden.
Normanby is a pretty little Yorkshire village with an excellent pub (the Sun Inn) sitting in the Vale of Pickering, nestling amongst rolling open farmland with the River Seven meandering its way through. Kirkbymoorside is a small market town five miles from the village offering a good choice of places to eat and shops for stocking up on provisions.
A sleepy quiet village, Normanby provides an ideal holiday retreat for those seeking peace and tranquility, yet it is well placed for exploring the many attractions that North Yorkshire has to offer. One of the main ones being the nearby North York Moors National Park offering endless opportunities for outdoor activities including walking, cycling and horse riding. The spectacular dramatic heather clad moorland is a delight to explore whether it be by foot, bike or on a nostalgic steam train ride on one of the worlds most famous railway lines. For the smaller ones who need occupying on holiday, a visit to Flamingo Land with its fantastic zoo, adventure park, and conservation area, or a tree top adventure at Go Ape in Dalby Forest with miles of tracks and trails to explore afterwards are sure to be holiday highlights.
North Yorkshire’s coastline also has immense appeal with Scarborough, Robin Hood’s Bay, Filey, Whitby and also Staithes all providing lovely days out.
Ryedale is a varied beautiful area offering a stunning landscape peppered with vibrant market towns and pretty little villages just waiting to be discovered.
