The Pippins is a stone's throw from the marina and the friendly Greyhound Inn in Hickling. The traditional red brick holiday cottage is beautifully furnished with sumptuous fabrics and stylish furnishings to offer a high standard of accommodation for four people (plus one infant) in two bedrooms, all on one level. It's practical and welcoming for families, having a large garden and being close to beaches and attractions. It is also a lovely place where couples can unwind in comfort, relaxing into the slower pace that comes from living by the water.
Hickling is in the middle of the Norfolk Broads, surrounded by gorgeous countryside and within easy reach of the coast. It's both beautiful and convenient, with everything you need either on the doorstep or within a leisurely cycle or scenic drive. Hickling is one of 63 broads in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (there are also seven rivers) and a popular spot for sailing, boating, canoeing, fishing, and Stand-Up Paddleboarding. It's also an excellent spot for birdwatchers, who flock here in all seasons to see species that include the elusive Bittern, Redwing, Marsh Harriers, and Ringed Plovers in summer and Brent Geese and Cranes in winter. The nature reserve status wetlands allow butterflies and dragonflies to thrive - keep your eyes peeled for the Swallowtail butterfly which is unique to the Norfolk Broads. It also provides a protected area for otters and deer.
The Norfolk Broads and coast are a pleasure to explore on foot or by bicycle, thanks to the extensive network of paths and the lack of elevation - fewer hills mean you can go further! The Pippins is only four miles from the beach at Sea Palling and close to Horsey Gap and Waxham. Other places include Horsey Windpump and Winterton Beach, especially in winter when the grey seal pups are born. Norwich is only 18 miles from Hickling and is popular for a day of sightseeing and shopping at one of the oldest open-air markets in England.
The Pippins welcomes visitors all year round. Guests love the location that gives great access to the Broads and the beaches, and all the little extras that make their stay so relaxed and comfortable.
