Captains Nooks sleeps up to six guests and is ideally located close to the beach on the Norfolk coastline in the village of Winterton-on-Sea. Perfect for friends or families, this charming dog-friendly cottage is great for water lovers with the sea almost on the doorstep and the magical Norfolk Broads just a hop, skip and jump away.
Once a fishing village, Winterton oozes seaside charm and offers its visitors a traditional pub, cafe, shop, post office and fish and chip shop - what better place to enjoy them than by the sea!
Whatever time of year you visit, the cottage has immense appeal. In the summer months you can relax and unwind in the lovely garden which is a pretty suntrap and during the winter, snuggle up in front of the fire once you've blown away the cobwebs with a walk along the beach. The seaside vibe does not stop at the front door either with the cottage having a lovely cheerful coastal feel, accompanied by plenty of facilities to ensure you are comfy including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth speakers, a range oven in the kitchen and even a games room that will keep the little ones amused while you cook dinner.
The local beach, is simply stunning with its sand dunes and vast expanse of golden sand. It is child and dog-friendly and offers plenty of space to find a quiet spot to lay your towel down and relax away from crowds. Alternatively, take a short drive to Sea Palling - a popular haunt for kayakers and kite-surfers with man-made reefs to explore. Wildlife lovers will want to head up coast to Horsey (just a couple of miles from Winterton and within walking distance) to see the spectacular seal colony which attracts people from far and wide; or for those who fancy the hustle and bustle of city life, Norwich is only half an hour away with fantastic shopping, plenty of culture and great places to enjoy a meal out.
The area offers a vast array of attractions for all ages, for those who can tear themselves away from the beach. The little ones are sure to love a day at Bewilderwood or Pleasurewood Hills, just as the whole family will enjoy a day of traditional seaside fun at Great Yarmouth. There are also plenty of opportunities for outdoor lovers with excellent fishing, walking (both coastal and country), cycling, boating with the broads so close and bird watching with the beautiful county of Norfolk often being referred to as the Twitchers capital of the country.
