Bure Cottage sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms and sits in an enviable position within the Peninsular Marina, an exclusive waterside haven located alongside the River Bure in Wroxham, known as the 'capital' of the glorious Norfolk Broads. Ideal as a romantic retreat for couples and also for a family holiday, the cottage enjoys a sunny position, views of the river from the bedroom and is just a pebble's throw from a private dyke.
This is a perfect place to escape the pressures of everyday life, where you can sit back on the lawn overlooking the river and watch the boats go by or feed the swans and ducks. Alternatively, try your luck at fishing or simply relax with a good book and a glass of wine on a sunny day. The terrace decking area is an ideal place to be at the end of the day as the sun sets, then stroll over and enjoy a meal in boathouse with its bar offering a huge choice of good ales and bistro.
The peaceful riverside gardens provide a tranquil place to lounge with their willows, flowers and ornamental grasses. Why not hire a boat to explore the magical waterways, or take a cruise tip up the river from Wroxham and sit back and let someone else show you the sights. The area is a haven for wildlife and pretty unspoilt villages, riverside traditional pubs, windmills and lakes pepper the surrounding landscape. There are also a plethora of attractions to suit all ages including the Wroxham Riverside Park under a mile away from the cottage; Bure Valley Steam Railway for a nostalgic relaxed way of exploring the countryside; Bewilderwood Park for the little ones; Hoverton Hall Gardens; the vibrant medieval city of Norwich (just a fifteen minute drive away) and the Norfolk coastline including Cromer and Great Yarmouth for some traditional seaside fun, to name just a few.
Wroxham itself has much to offer and is just a five minute stroll from Bure Cottage. Here you have a great choice of places to eat, along with shops and a railway station (you can take a train to Norwich for the day to explore the city).
Whether you are looking for a waterside retreat from which to simply relax or a base for exploring the Norfolk Broads including its wonderful waterways, Bure Cottage provides a warm welcome and a superb place to spend a holiday.
