Pear Tree Cottage is a delightful country cottage in a peaceful location in Thurning. The owners have transformed a former farm building into a welcoming space where guests can relax and enjoy strolling through woodland, cycling along country lanes, and discovering the sights and attractions that make North Norfolk a favourite holiday destination for so many people. The cottage sleeps up to six guests in two spacious bedrooms, with a layout and other features that make it comfortable for guests who use a wheelchair. It is ideal for couples, families and friends.
The cottage is one of three superb holiday homes at Roundabout Farm. Guests are welcome to stroll around the owner's seven acres of grounds which include woodland with a pond, and also have easy access to lovely footpaths and cycle rides. There is a well-stocked village store, baker, butcher and greengrocer three miles away in Briston, with more variety in nearby Heydon. The Georgian market town of Holt is only six miles from the cottage, offering an excellent choice of places to eat, drink and shop.
Local attractions are plentiful and include National Trust properties such as Blickling Estate and Felbrigg Hall, the Thursford Steam Museum which boasts the biggest collection of steam engines and organs in the world, and which hosts a spectacular Christmas extravaganza every year. Golfers have their pick of three "Royal Appointed" golf courses that include Royal Cromer, Royal Norwich and the Royal West Norfolk courses. Visitors also have opportunities to go horseriding, take a trip on a vintage train, or find a peaceful spot for a picnic.
One of the many reasons why Pear Tree Cottage is so perfect is that it is within an easy drive of both the Broads National Park and the beautiful North Norfolk coastline. Spend a day sailing along miles of amazing waterways, admiring the vast variety of flora and fauna that flourish in the protected environment, or throw your bucket and spade in the car for a day at Cromer, Sheringham, or one of the other fantastic beaches along the coastline. Norwich is also just over half an hour's drive away, with centuries of history and culture as well as lots of places to eat and drink.
