Burrow Cottage sleeps two guests and is a charming period detached holiday cottage which is part of a secluded barn conversion and small-holding nestling at the end of a half mile private drive. Overlooking a five acre field which is grazed by rare breed Kerry Hill sheep and a small flock of free range chickens, Burrow Cottage provides a tranquil retreat close to the Norfolk coastline.
The cottage is a perfect base for those who enjoy walking and cycling - you can step out of the front door and have direct access onto miles of public footpaths and quiet green lanes.
Just three miles away are the sandy beaches of Mundesley and the traditional Victorian seaside resorts of Cromer and Sheringham are within easy reach, as are the stylish Georgian market towns of Burnham Market and Holt.
There are plenty of interesting places to visit nearby including the historic halls of Blickling, Holkom, Houghton and Felbrigg with their fascinating interiors, delightful gardens and cafes. The seal colony and sea-birds at The Blakney Point Sanctuary is also a popular attraction with regular boat trips from the villages of Blakney and Morston.
For those you want to leave the car at home, Gunton Station (on the Bittern Line) is just a ten minutes walk from the cottage and you can catch a train to Sheringham and Cromer or Norwich via North Walsham and Wroxham. The North Norfolk Coastal Hopper also offers is a regular bus service that runs from Hunstanton and Cromer, allowing you to hop on and off the bus as much as you wish and explore the beautiful and varied Norfolk coastline including the walks, historic harbour villages and the many pubs and cafes. What's more you can take your dog for free!
Burrow Cottage sits to the North of the Norfolk Broads 'Britains Magical Waterland' where you can enjoy a host of water sports including sailing, kayaking and canoeing. Day boats are available to hire from one of the many boatyards providing a great way to explore the severn rivers and sixty three broads that are a haven for wildlife.
The beautiful City of Norwich, England's best preserved medieval city, is half an hour away by car or train. Its skyline is dominated by two cathedrals, its Norman castle and many medieval churches, providing a splendid backdrop. It has a wealth of Victorian architecture, the 21st Century Forum and an Art Deco city hall. With a thriving cultural scene, Norwich is a vibrant city to visit with its ubiquitous modern shopping centre, Chaplefields.
The surrounding area offers a great choice of pubs with the exceptional Gunton Arms (this years Michelin pub of the year 2013) just three miles from the cottage. The Vernon Arms in Southrepps also provides excellent food and good beer and the Trunch Crown is worth a visit. The local shop is just over a mile away in Trunch village and there is a Waitrose and Sainsburys in North Walsham.
Burrow Cottage is a recently converted brick and flint building which retains much of its original character whilst offering all the modern comforts you would expect for a relaxing holiday. A perfect retreat for couples seeking a quiet secluded break.

Outside: French doors lead to the garden with a patio area and garden furniture. There is a small grassed area and delightful well maintained flower beds.
Additional Information: Underfloor heating throughout. Electricity is included in the cost and we provide logs and kindling for the wood-burning stove free of charge. The owners accept up to 2 pets for an additional £10 per pet. The garden is enclosed and there are plenty of dog walks straight from the cottage. The cottage is not suitable for toddlers or young children, however a "baby in arms" would be ok. If you do wish to bring a baby please do contact us first so that we can ensure that your stay will be trouble free.
There are a couple of well maintained bicycles which can be hired on a daily basis or for the duration of your stay. The first basket of logs are supplied for the wood-burner, additional wood and kindling is available for a small charge. Welcome pack provided which includes tea, coffee, milk, a home baked loaf made from local wheat with a jar of home-made raspberry jam and a few free range eggs when they are laying!
Burrow Cottage is the only holiday cottage on site - you will not be tripping over other holiday makers!
