The Old Stables is a stylishly refurbished holiday cottage within the New Forest National Park accommodating four guests in two bedrooms.
Still retaining much of its agricultural character, The Old Stables offers the perfect peaceful retreat for couples, friends or families and provides a high standard of self-catering accommodation. Here you can picnic in the meadow field which is bordered by the meandering Avon Water, or try your hand at fishing. Alternatively, take a leisurely ten minute walk to The Mill at Gordleton - an excellent bar and restaurant with a beautiful riverside garden, perfect for lunch.
The delightful Georgian market town of Lymington, a yachting haven, is just five minutes by car. The town has much to offer with its cobbled streets, numerous shops, boutiques, restaurants, thriving Saturday market and quayside with regular ferries to the Isle of Wight.
The Old Stables is a great base from which to explore both the forest with its miles of tracks and trails and the coast with beaches and clifftop walks. There are plenty of activities to enjoy including wonderful forest walks, cycling, horse riding, fishing, sailing and golf. Attractions are plentiful with many nearby including: Lyndhurst 'The Capital of the New Forest'; Beaulieu with its National Motor Museum and Bucklers Hard, an 18th Century shipbuilding village and Maritime Museum.
Quintessential English villages with pretty thatched cottages are just waiting to be explored and miles of open heathland where cattle, ponies and donkeys graze provide a playground for outdoor activities. Alternatively, travel a little further afield to the cities of Winchester, Portsmouth, Salisbury, Bournemouth and Southampton - all within an hours' drive.
