Seashell Cottage feels as if it's always been part of the coastal village of Milford-on-Sea yet the contemporary cottage is a recent addition. Tucked away in a quiet mews estate within walking distance of relaxed pubs like The Smugglers Inn and The Wash House, the cottage sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms (plus cot) and is perfect for couples or families. The beach is a leisurely five-minute stroll from the door while the New Forest National Park is a short drive away.
Milford-on-Sea is a friendly village with excellent amenities that make it ideal as a base for a self-catering holiday. In addition to its welcoming pubs, it has an array of places to eat, drink and shop. The village green is only 200 yards from the cottage, opposite which is a cafe favoured by locals for a lazy brunch or a mid-morning treat. The beach is fantastic. A mix of sand and shingle, it has panoramic views across The Solent to the Isle of Wight and The Needles. Pack a picnic and walk along the beach to Hurst Castle where the former Tudor fort and WWII barracks are now a museum. Hordle Cliff is less than a mile west of the village beach, and there are many beaches and coves along the stretch of coastline.
An excellent way to explore this beautiful part of Britain is by bike. There is a bike hire shop and kayak hire in the village, with more in nearby Lymington. Lymington also has a regular ferry to the Isle of Wight, as well as an excellent array of shops and restaurants. The New Forest National Park is only 10 minutes from Seashell Cottage, with gorgeous villages and protected forest with miles of footpaths, bridleways and cycling trails. It is as easy to stay active on holiday at Seashell Cottage as it is to find a quiet spot with a stunning view and sit happily for a few hours.
The owners of Seashell Cottage have considered every detail when furnishing the cottage, making sure it is a welcoming haven for visitors at any time of the year.
