Rowes Cottage is a lovely New Forest self-catering holiday cottage in the sleepy hamlet of East End. It sleeps four people in two bedrooms and is a wonderful choice for couples or families. In this beautifully unspoiled place, the pace of life encourages you to slow down and appreciate having time to enjoy yourself. There's an excellent gastropub, the East End Arms, a 10-minute walk away, and you're only a 20-minute stroll or a short cycle from the secluded Tanners Lane beach. The cottage is on Rowes Lane, which only has a handful of houses and no through traffic, which is probably why it's a popular place for the local donkeys, who like to sleep on the grass outside the garden fence.
East End is a kind of blink and you miss it type of place and is perfect for a relaxing holiday to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage is just two miles from East Boldre, where there is a pub and a village shop handy for essentials like fresh bread and milk. All other amenities are four miles or a ten-minute drive away in Lymington, a pretty Georgian harbour town with a choice of supermarkets, shops, and a busy Saturday market with more than 100 stalls setting out their wares along the High Street. Lymington also has a mainline train station and a ferry terminal with regular services to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight.
The New Forest is gorgeous all year round and, being only two hours from London with excellent train links, means it's always a great choice if you need to escape. You can leave Rowes Cottage straight to Gypsy Wood, home to ancient oaks and free-roaming ponies, donkeys, deer and cows. Pack a picnic and walk around the coast, or navigate the mile-long shingle spit to Henry VIII's Hurst Castle. The National Motor Museum is a short drive away at Beaulieu, and you're also within easy reach of Buckler's Hard. Days out can also feature the New Forest Water Park, Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World, and a driving or cycling tour of the Isle of Wight.

Rowes Cottage is beautifully presented with accommodation entirely on one level and a private sunny garden. The owner's Norwegian roots shows in the decor, which is stylishly simple and eminently comfortable.
Outside: The rear garden has a patio with a bistro table and chairs, a big lawn area, and tranquil views of fields. There is also off-street parking on the driveway next to the house.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Guests to bring beach towels if they are required. Please note that the piano is for use for pianists only by request. Smoking and pets are not permitted.
