Heather View Cottage sleeps up to five guests and affords an idyllic peaceful location in the New Forest National Park just three miles from Lymington and Brockenhurst. The famous New Forest ponies can often be seen wandering up to the front gate and wonderful forest walks start straight from the front door.
Offering everything needed to self-cater, Heather View Cottage has two bedrooms (a king-size double and twin room), along with a sofa bed in the dining room for an additional guest if required. Furnishings are comfortable and homely with an open fire for cosy winter nights and pretty garden with patio for relaxing in the summer months.
Situated on the edge of the Hampshire village of Sway (with main line railway station), Heather View Cottage is a great base for exploring the areas many attractions including both the forest on the doorstep, and coast. The nearest beaches and open sea are within five miles, and the coast (including coastal path) is just three miles away at Lymington. The village is an excellent base for walkers and cyclists, as well as offering opportunities for pony trekking through the forest, fishing and golf.
The village itself is just a fifteen minute walk from the cottage and offers a good choice of amenities with shops, places for a meal out, a well stocked village store and excellent butchers for sampling the local produce. There is also a dog and child friendly pub close by (The Hare and Hounds is under ten minutes on foot) for those who want a break from cooking.
There are an abundance of great days out in the local area. Visit Beaulieu with its famous car museum, Exbury Gardens (particularly magnificent when ablaze with spring colour), the picturesque maritime village of Buckler's Hard and the Georgian market town of Lymington to name just a few. A little further afield but still within easy reach, you also have the cathedral city of Salisbury, Winchester, the seaside resort of Bournemouth, Portsmouth with its historic docks and Southampton.
Whether you want to explore the miles of tracks and trails in the forest, discover the many attractions of Hampshire or simply relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Heather View Cottage is sure to provide a warm welcome at any time of the year.
