Woodbug Cabin sleeps two guests and is a perfect retreat for couples and singles looking for a peaceful bolthole away from it all within the heart of Lake District National Park. As the name suggests, it is a timber 'Alpine' cabin nestling amongst the trees on the private Neaum Estate of some eighteen acres of ancient woodland. Sitting at the mouth of the picturesque Langdale Valley, the area is a paradise for walkers, wildlife enthusiasts and those seeking peace and tranquility with a host of incredible walks and longer hikes starting from the front door step.
Encapsulated by woods, you really feel you are away from it all in your own stylish wood cabin amongst the trees when you stay at Woodbug Cabin. Enjoy being at one with nature with a wide variety of wildlife that regularly visit including deer, red squirrels, rabbits, badgers and a wide variety of feathered friends including notoriously shy jays, tree creepers, owls roosting in the big ancient oaks, friendly robins and buzzards soaring up above.
The cabin is warm and welcoming with an interior that oozes style, enhanced by a high degree of comfort and attention to detail with many extra thoughtful touches. More of a luxury getaway for those who enjoy the natural pleasures in life. Come back from a long day hiking the hills and after an invigorating shower, put your feet up and watch a film whilst listening to the birdsong as the night closes in. During the milder months (between March to mid November), you can also enjoy the luxury of the communal Spa and Pool House with Jacuzzi, swimming pool and sauna, just a short stroll from the cabin.
In an elevated position above Skelwith Bridge with its beautiful waterfalls, Woodbug Cabin is close to Ambleside (within an hours scenic walk) and also just a short stroll from pubs and cafes at Skelwith Bridge and nearby Elterwater, including the renowned Chesters cafe and shop and the famous Britannia Inn. The area provides an ideal retreat for exploring the whole of the Lake District and its many attractions. A popular tourist location, Ambleside sits centrally within the Lake District and offers a good choice of shops, places to eat (whether you want to treat yourself to some fine dining or enjoy some pub grub), a climbing wall and a cinema.
The stunning Lakeland scenery is all around, providing a vast outdoor playground for a whole host of activities including kayaking, sailing, walking, cycling, fell-hiking or climbing - whatever your passion the mountains, countryside and lakes provide endless opportunities. The surrounding landscape offers historic sites and attractions to visit where you can discover the many reasons why Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth fell in love with the area; or explore the pretty villages and towns of Coniston, Keswick, Bowness, Windermere and Grasmere that are all within easy driving distance.
Whether you want to relax and immerse yourself in nature, enjoy a walking holiday or want to explore the many attractions of the Lake District, Woodbug Cabin is an ideal retreat whatever the time of year.
