Staintons is a sophisticated first-floor self-catering holiday apartment in a fantastic location, steps from cafes, restaurants, shops, and relaxed pubs like the Westmorland Inn. Whether you're planning a relaxing romantic escape with leisurely sightseeing and delicious food or an adventure holiday packed with exciting activities, you'll feel right at home in this recently-refurbished holiday rental in Bowness. It has a spacious bedroom with a king-sized bed and a large corner sofa in the living room that opens into a double bed to sleep up to two adults. Guests love the high standard of accommodation combined with the convenience of being close to Windermere.
Perhaps it's the waterside setting, but, despite being a favourite place with locals and tourists, Bowness-on-Windermere never feels busy or crowded. As you wander from your apartment toward the lake, you'll pass an array of independently owned businesses that cater to all your needs, whether you're after a new pair of hiking boots or a sandwich. Hire a boat, SUP or kayak to explore the water at your own pace, book a seat on a sightseeing Windermere Lake Cruise, or use the regular car ferry service between Bowness and Sawrey to break up the driving. Staintons is close to top Lake District attractions like The World of Beatrix Potter and Potter's home, National Trust Hill Top, where the animals and gardens helped inspire her to create her beloved characters. The Lakeland Horticultural Society showcases its work at Holehird Gardens, with other places including The Lakes Aquarium, Lakeland Motor Museum, and the Wordsworth Museum nearby in Grasmere.
The Lakes offer some of the most dramatic scenery in the UK, attracting around 15 million visitors every year. Many come to walk, strolling around Windermere and Coniston Water in the south, and Thirlsemere and Ullswater in the north, or for more challenging routes across fells and up mountains. Almost 70 years after publishing his eponymous Lakeland Guides, Alfred Wainwright is still the leading expert on where to walk. Mountain biking is another popular pastime with an extensive network of bridleways, rights of way, and dedicated MTB trails like those in Grizedale Forest.
Staintons an excellent choice for a self-catering holiday in the Lake District, offering style and comfort in a location that is conveniently central while still being peaceful.
