Moss Cottage sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms and is an excellent choice for families and friends wanting to explore the Lake District National Park. Beautifully presented throughout, this semi-detached holiday cottage is perfectly placed in a peaceful position, yet just a short walk from the heart of Windermere village.
Allowing guests to escape from the crowds, Moss Cottage is nicely tucked away with log burners for relaxing in the winter months and lovely garden for enjoying the summer sunshine. Windermere is just ten minutes away on foot and offers a great selection of pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and shops. Lake Windermere itself is also a short walk away with a path accessible from the cottage front door taking you to the tranquillity of the lake setting. Pack a blanket and picnic and relax by the water surrounded by fabulous mountain scenery.
Windermere is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Lake District National Park. Its central location makes it a good base for exploring the areas abundance of attractions including the picturesque villages and towns of Grasmere (a visit to the Gingerbread Shop is a must!), Ambleside and the bustling market town of Kendal. You can also visit the Cumbrian coast for a day by the sea or head into the Yorkshire Dales National Park if you can tear yourself away from the Lakeland beauty.
The surrounding area offers a plethora of superb walks with many accessible straight from the front door. Whether you want a gentle stroll around the lake shore or a day hiking the fells, there is something for everyone. Bring your bike away with you (or hire one locally) and explore the areas lovely lanes or for some water-based fun hire a boat, kayak or sit back and let someone else show you the sights and enjoy a cruise on a nostalgic lake steamer.
Whether you want to discover the many delights of the Lake District or simply relax and unwind in one of the country's most beautiful settings, Moss Cottage is a welcoming retreat at any time of the year.

Full of Edwardian charm, accommodation is spread out over three floors and comprises:

Outside: The garden backs onto woodland adding to the tranquility, and provides plenty of space to relax. Bird food is provided for the feeders which attract lots of feathered visitors to the garden. A decking area has table with chairs for enjoying meals outside when the sun shines. Free off-road car parking for two cars.
Additional information: Prices include bed linen, electricity (including electric heating), towels and a welcome basket of logs for your first fires (guests can then purchase logs thereafter). A small welcome pack awaits your arrival with milk and biscuits. Unfortunately no pets and no smoking. Children over five are accepted. Changeover is usually on a Friday but the owner will try to be flexible where possible. Unlimited Wi-Fi is provided free of charge. Steep steps mean the property is unlikely to be suitable for those with limited mobility.
Children over 5yrs old are welcome at Moss Cottage. Because some steps are steeper we advise that Moss Cottage is not suitable for guests with younger children, or people with limited mobility.
